Carmelo goes for 50

Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony went for 50 points for the first time in his career Friday night against the New York Knicks.

It was a very efficient night for Carmelo, who shot 17-for-28 from the floor and missed just one of his sixteen free throw attempts. He also passed for five assists, which beats his season average of three and a half.

I spent the evening with my younger siblings and missed the game completely, but if you want to be like me and catch up with some rather-tame highlights, click below.

Carmelo was awesome in this game, scoring at will against the Knicks. Every time the Knicks tried to double him he would make a sweet pass to a cutting K-Mart or Nene for a dunk! The Nuggets' offensive efficiency was incredible...their defense, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired.

What's up with the Nuggets not showing up against inferior teams?! They've already lost this year to the Clippers and the T-Wolves. They should mop the floor with both those teams, but just like in the Knicks game, they just refuse to play any defense some games.

We are like the wannabe Lakers. It does worry me a little; I hope the team doesn't think it's good enough to just turn it on and off when they need to.
